Social Events

The Ponsonby Cruising Club offers a range of social events throughout the year.

Several of our races sail to other clubs and venues - Riverhead, Taikata, … Come by car & Meet the Fleet! Kawau Island - the ferry runs from Sandspit.

Being social in 2024

Our new year started at the AGM  in June, 2024. With a new committee, admittedly most of us have been there before, but with the new initiatives and variations to our sailing programme we are already seeing new customers and enthusiasm.

The House Committee and the Sailing Committee are currently planning towards the new season but would appreciate your help. Join the team and help make this a very social season.

Club Nights

All Thursday nights are Club Nights with the Rum Race Prizegiving & Social Hour or two. On two occasions so far we have hosted two very interesting and historic vessels, Johnny Wray's Ngataki and the 120 year old  Logan built Wairiki and the display of the Logan tool box with the antique tools. On both occasions the boats were moored in front of the club house and open for inspection. More such displays are planned.

Everyone is welcome to join to join us at the club and learn more of our Maritime History.
